Payment Information

Insurance
Connecticut Medicaid is accepted at Hartford GYN Center for abortion services. On the day of the procedure, you must present your State of CT Medicaid card and a valid picture ID such as a driver's license, motor vehicle ID, passport or alien card. Check-cashing cards are not considered proper ID. Your social security card is not accepted either since it does not have a picture or date of birth. Prior to the procedure, your Medicaid information will be entered into the State of CT site to be verified and deemed eligible.

We also accept Anthem Blue Cross/Blue Shield, Connecticare, United Health Care, Cigna, Aetna, Northeast Direct, Healthnet, and Oxford Health Care. Private insurance must be verified prior to the date of service. When making your appointment, you must give us your insurance ID number, group number if applicable, and the toll-free number from your card to verify eligibility. You must also give your full name, birthdate and social security number. If you are not the policy holder, we must know who the policy holder is and where he/she is employed.We will call the insurance company to make sure that you have an active policy and if this is a covered service. We will also verify your co-pay and any deductible you will be responsible for. You will call us the day before your procedure to see if it's been approved and if there is any co-pay or deductible.

Personal Payment
For patients not using insurance to cover the cost of services, payment is accepted by Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover with a valid picture ID of the card holder. The card holder must be present and must sign the receipt. Debit cards are also accepted with a Visa or Mastercard logo, or a cash payment in the exact amount. We do not accept personal checks or money orders.

Discounts
Hartford GYN Center provides discounts to students with a valid school ID, to casino employees, and to those patients with an out of state Medicaid card such as Mass Health. There are certain funding organizations available such as the Abortion Rights Fund of Western Massachusetts, the Rosie Fund and the Jane Fund which may help to partially pay for the termination.Please ask one of our phone counselors for more information on funding.
